Ventura Harbor Village – one of Ventura’s seaside attractions – salutes sirens of the sea with mer-mazing celebrations this March! It’s the perfect time to plan your trip seaside, as these mystical aquatic creatures take center stage all month long. Special themed events and live mermaid sightings are scheduled for select Sundays, March 13th and March 20th from 1-4 PM. Visitors across all oceans are encouraged to make a splash and delve into a myriad of mermaid activities. On Saturdays, guests can bask in the sunshine with the sounds of the steel drum from 1-4 PM along the Village’s Seaside Promenade, as you enjoy a mermaid’s favorite meal (fresh seafood!) and drink refreshing cocktails while overlooking the boats in the scenic harbor.

For the month of March, visitors will also find a number of photo ops, including large mermaid shells and the 20-foot plus sign feature that reads “I Love the SEA” on Ventura Harbor Village’s Promenade. Or head down to Ventura Harbor’s Harbor Cove Beach, walk along the beach and snap of a picture of the large mermaid statue that welcomes guests into the Harbor water entrance (see a second mermaid statue across the way at Marina Park too). Don’t forget to stop in for a visit at the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center to get a look at some of the fish under the sea in their aquatic exhibit (open daily with free entry).

Ventura Harbor Village’s bars and restaurants are serving up “sea-sonal” themed cocktails, sweet mermaid treats, and delicious seafood freshly caught right off of the coast. Those seeking to get on the water with ease can rent a kayak, stand up paddle board, electric boats or popular swan, duck or dragon pedal boats daily with Ventura Boat Rentals. To catch a real live mermaid or just a large fish (bragging rights included), board a Ventura Sportfishing vessel or get a possible glimpse of the illusive mermaid swimming with the whales on an Island Packers Winter Whale Watch excursion.
