Seamanship
Seamanship is the first in a series of classes. New boaters, as well as boaters with sea time experience, will benefit from this class. This is a pre-requisite class for the Power Squadron Piloting and Advanced Piloting courses. This class is offered once each calendar year.
It covers:
- Basic dock seamanship
- Slow speed maneuvering
- Handling your boat in different sea conditions
- Special information about cruising in the Channel Islands
- Rules of the road
- Anchoring, mooring, and rafting
- Emergencies at sea
- And more
BEGINS: April 11 and meets every Monday until Monday, June 6th (final exam). It will not meet Memorial Day.
TIME: 7 – 9 pm
LOCATION: Ventura Yacht Club 1755 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura (upstairs dining room)
COST: Ventura Sail and Power Squadron members $60.00/Non-members $90.00
