Get ready for several spook-tacular seaside experiences, as Ventura Harbor Village transforms into an “Erie-sistible” Halloween destination. On Friday, October 27th at 4 pm, Saturday, October 28th starting at Noon and Sunday, October 29th from Noon – 2 PM and a bit beyond bewitching celebrations await. Admission and parking are free! Ventura Harbor Village invites visitors from near and far to enjoy a variety of enchanting activities and Halloween treats. Don’t miss this fang-tastic lineup of events for costumed kids, parents, and even pets who want to join in the spirited fun. The Harbor pulls out all the stops to make this weekend memorable. Expect to see witches, pumpkins, skeletons, and numerous photo opportunities along the waterfront.

Ventura Harbor Witches Paddle:
Friday, October 27th at 4 pm in the harbor channel near Ventura Harbor Village
Gather your witches’ attire and join us for the Ventura Harbor Witches Paddle on Friday, October 27th at 4:00 PM. Whether you bring your own paddle board or kayak or rent from Ventura Boat Rentals, sail along Ventura Harbor dressed as a witch for a festive Halloween experience! Now in its fifth year, this magical tradition, initiated by two local ladies, Christie Moorehouse and Susan Stuart, has grown into an enchanting event, attracting over 60 witches and warlocks, as well as photographers and spectators. Meet for a group photo at 3:30 PM at Coastal Cone Ice Cream or on the water at 4:00 PM for an approximately one to one-and-a-half-hour group paddle. Launch points are available at Harbor Cove Beach, “C” Dock in the courtesy area of the Village, or the Ventura Harbor public launch ramp. If renting from Ventura Boat Rentals, check availability in advance and arrive early. Safety is essential, so wear life vests and maintain a safe distance from others during the paddle.
HOWL-O-ween Dog Costume Contest:
Saturday, October 28th at Noon on the Ventura Harbor Village Main Lawn
Come watch the 11th Annual HOWL-O-ween Dog Costume Contest in Ventura Harbor Village, a beloved event for all! Dogs get to show off their alter-egos as their owners dress them up in adorable and imaginative costumes. It’s a chance for these festive furry friends to strut their stuff and compete for prizes in various costume categories. The Instagram-worthy dog costume event is scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023, at noon, and it will take place at the Village Main Lawn (new location) near Deep Sea Winery and The Ultimate Escape Room followed by an impromptu customed dog parade along the Village Promenade. Pre-registration is full, however, a limited number of spots will be available on the day of the event, on a first-come, first-served basis. Thanks to Ventura Pet Barn as sponsor! Costume categories include: Best in Show, Spookiest, Most Sea-Worthy, Most On-trend, and Most Creative. It’s an event that promises fun, creativity, and adorable canine companions celebrating Halloween in style.

Ventura Harbor Village welcomes families for a Spooktacular Seaside Trick or Treat event on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from Noon to 2 PM. Here’s what’s in store:
Trick-or-Treating at Ventura Harbor Village Businesses
Families dressed in festive costumes can bring their own trick-or-treat bags and explore the Village. More than 20 Ventura Harbor businesses will be giving out tricks and treats. Look for witchy hats with green twirling hair to identify participating shops and restaurants. Sweet treats are available while supplies last.
Seaside Skeleton Hunt
Join the spooky spirit and hunt for more than a dozen escaped skeletons around Ventura Harbor. Visitors are encouraged to canvass the waterfront Village, locate all the skeletons, and snap photos of them. Post your findings on social media using #SeasideSkeletons in the caption and tag @venturaharbor for a chance to win a Harbor Halloween prize pack from select Harbor shops.
Craft Station, Slime, and Face Painting
Stop by the complimentary Craft Station for kids hosted by Las Posas Children’s Center, where each child can get creative on a Halloween-themed art project. Face painting by Happy Rainbow, and Halloween slime activity will also be available for a small fee.
Professional Pumpkin Carver
What will the jumbo pumpkin be this year? Swing by the Seaside promenade stage to see professional pumpkin carver, Dawn Reily, of Harbor Village Gallery & Gifts, create an intricately carved masterpiece in real time.
Halloween Hearse and Photo Ops
Experience a festive Halloween Hearse, decorated to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. Families can take photos with multiple backdrops in the courtyard and other scenic vantage points throughout the Village. Hearse courtesy of the Joseph P. Reardon funeral home in Ventura, CA.
Thriller Zombie Dance:
Sunday, October 29th from 2:15 PM on the Village Main Lawn
Watch zombies come to life in the iconic Thriller Zombie Flash Mob taking place at 2:15 PM on the Ventura Harbor Village’s Main Lawn. Sponsored by FitZone Ventura, this Halloween favorite is sure to delight die-hard Halloween fans. If you know the dance, come in zombie costume and meet at 1 pm on the Village Main Lawn to participate.
Following the Thriller performance, a Spooky DJ invites all spectators, ghosts, and goblins to join the fun as haunted dance tunes play until 2:30 PM to round out the afternoon. Fun for all ages!
