The Ventura Port District is proud to announce the launch of the third phase of its Harbor Village Beautification Project. The work, which began the first week of January 2017, will include many new and attractive improvements to Ventura Harbor Village.

The large entry area to the Ventura Harbor Village will be transformed into a modern visitor-friendly area that will include many new features, like an interpretive map of the Channel Islands inlaid as decorative concrete paving, a grand staircase flanked with decorative pilasters and walls, new entry signage, a fire pit, public art, seating areas, bistro tables, planter areas with palm tress and a handicapped accessible ramp.

The Harbor Village Beautification Project began in 2014 by adding improvements such as eco-friendly landscaping, LED lighting along the promenade and other environmentally friendly enhancements that conserves water and energy. These improvements are aimed at maximizing the visitor experience, serving our businesses and creating unique spaces to be enjoyed by our Ventura Harbor community as well as new guests from around the world.

The Ventura Port District Board of Port Commissioners awarded the construction contract at its November 9, 2016 meeting to Oxnard-based Viola, Inc., for the sum of $1.57 million, reflecting the Port District’s budget for the project. All businesses are open during construction and the estimated completion of this project is targeted for summer 2017.
