Celebrating its 12th year, Ventura Art and Street Painting Festival takes place September 11th and 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Ventura Harbor Village. Festival-goers are invited to stroll and view over 26 chalk paintings from talented street artists while enjoying a diverse shopping experience that includes hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, handbags, and much more. While attending the summer festival, guests are encouraged to enjoy lunch from Harbor restaurants and sweet and tasty treats from Harbor chocolatiers, bakeries, and an ice cream shop. A portion of this year’s festival proceeds will be donated to FOOD Share of Ventura County and the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura County.

Among this year’s street painting artists, a returning favorite, Lorelle Miller will showcase a uniquely curated boat scene painting, inspired by Ventura’s vibrant coastal scenery. From Santa Barbara, Rod Tyron returns to the festival, bringing with him 34 years of chalk art experience ranging from local Ventura streets to international locations such as Hong Kong, Dubai, Egypt, and more.

Additionally, this family-friendly festival invites parents and children to enjoy an interactive opportunity at the Children’s Chalk Area, organized by volunteers of the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura County. Chalk boxes and street space are available for purchase.

Ventura Art and Street Painting Festival Executive Director Barbara Hinton recalls her influence and persistence in keeping the festival a recurring success, “It’s incredibly important to support our local creators, artists, and vendors on their journeys, as well as making sure the next generation has the chance to not only see artists in action but actually participate.” Hinton continues, “This festival is my way of honoring and remembering my mother and all her influence that has been poured into this event. She was a fiber artist who loved attending the festival every year. As I stroll through this year’s festival, I will be silently celebrating her.”Thank you to generous lead sponsor RH Wealth Advisors, Inc. and all donors, sponsors, and contributors who have made the continuous return of the festival a success.
